Well, I still like the Classic view, so I set the Classic view has the default for EPS pages. In this drop down EPS menu, Figure 4, you will find the toggle to make either the Classic view or the Standard view the default. In the projects preferences click on the Pages twisty arrow, Figure 3.

I find the Classic view of Primavera P6 EPPM release 16.1 more suitable for creating schedules. This leaves schedulers having to perform some functions in the Standard view and other older functions in the Classic view. Oracle are moving away from Java in Primavera P6 EPPM, but it does not yet have enough features in its Standard view to warrant the removal of the Classic view.
